Recover and interrogate remote systems
Potassium Secure remote device signaling
A lightweight recovery and signaling mechanism for administrators who need a controlled way to check, reset or re-open access to remote embedded devices over a reachable IP network.

Recover and interrogate remote systems
A deliberate signal instead of an always-open management service
The Windows-side tool sends a sequenced multi-port datagram pattern. A properly programmed remote device recognizes the sequence and exposes only the specific recovery action associated with it.

Signaling design
- Multi-port datagram sequence
- Messages sent to specific ports in a defined order
- Configurable inter-knock delay increases sequence complexity
- Message content encrypted and hashed
- Remote device must already be reachable over IP
Recover and interrogate remote systems
Focused recovery functions
The current toolset concentrates on a small group of administrative actions useful when ordinary management access has been lost.
Supported functions
- Soft reset
- Hard reset
- Open firewall
- Echo / health response
